Since 2016

A decade of teaching. Now in America.

Our founder, Panos Karantousis, has been teaching since 2016: in London classrooms, as a Head of Mathematics, and then as the founder of Maevious, the online school he built in the UK.

Maevious US brings that same method to American families: live lessons every school day, every lesson recorded, and teachers who are US state-certified and background-checked.

Three ways to learn

Pick the shape of the school day

For most families we recommend starting with the Online School. All three can be combined, and you can move between them at any time.

Our core program

Online School

From $199/month

Three live group lessons and two resources-based lessons every school day, aligned to Common Core and NGSS. Includes the Asynchronous School at no extra cost.

Best for

Families who want a full schedule and the structure of a school day.

See Online School plans

Learn at your own pace

Asynchronous School

From $159/month

The same curriculum without the fixed schedule. Recorded lessons, worksheets and resources, plus whiteboard support whenever it is needed.

Best for

Students who travel, train, or simply work better outside a fixed schedule.

See Asynchronous School plans

Added to either, or on its own

1-to-1 Tutoring

From $39/hour

One teacher, one student, built around a specific goal — a tricky topic, an upcoming test, or simply moving faster.

Best for

Closing a gap, or stretching a student who is already ahead.

How it works

Three steps, about a week

Nothing is paid for until after the trial lesson and the consultation.

  1. Book a free trial lesson

Tell us your child's grade and when you are free. We will put them into a real, live lesson with a teacher — not a demo.

  2. Join a consultation

We talk through where your child is now, what you want them to achieve, and which plan actually fits. If we are not the right answer, we will say so.

  3. Start school

Your child gets their own classroom page: today's live lesson, their resources, their whiteboard and their homework, all on one screen.

What's included

Everything included

There are no add-ons and no upgrade tiers. Across the Online School and Asynchronous School, the only difference between plans is the grade and whether lessons are live or recorded.

  • All-day support from the teaching team, not just in lesson time
  • A social club where students connect and share ideas

  • A saved archive of your child's daily work

Terms

  • Free trial lesson and consultation before you pay anything
  • No contract and no notice period
  • Your price locked for as long as the plan stays active
  • 20% discount when you refer a friend

What it costs

Live teaching every school day. For less than the accredited competition.

Accredited online schools with live classes charge up to $31,900 a year.* The competition starts at $349 a month for elementary and $449 for high school. We charge $199 a month, from 3rd to 10th grade. Pay for the year upfront and it’s $1,569, against $2,790.

Nothing is added on later. Your price is locked for as long as your plan is active.

What you don’t pay for is a diploma. Homeschooling families don’t need one from us: you hold the credential, we do the teaching. Three live lessons a day with a state-certified teacher, every one of them recorded, plus two resources-based lessons a day and all-day support from our teaching team.

Accreditation is on our roadmap.

* “The competition” means accredited US online schools with live classes: published full-time tuition at the 4 we checked on their own websites in October 2026, from $2,790 to $31,900 a year. The lowest-priced charges $349–$449 a month or $2,790 and up a year, by grade, before promotional discounts; its advertised 20% online discount still leaves it above ours. Grades and hours of live teaching vary. Maevious figures are for the Online School, 3rd to 10th grade. If your child later moves to a school, that school decides what credit to give.

Questions

The four things everyone asks

There are more on the full FAQ page, and you can always just message us on WhatsApp.

What is the difference between the Online School, the Asynchronous School and 1-to-1 tutoring?

Three services, for three different ways of learning. They can be combined.

Online School

Our core service: structured, interactive group lessons delivered live on a daily schedule by state-certified, background-checked teachers. Lessons are aligned to Common Core and NGSS from 3rd to 10th grade. Live lessons cover math and English language arts at every grade, science, history and geography in 3rd–4th grade, and literature, biology, chemistry and physics from 5th grade. Alongside them come offline resources-based lessons in Spanish, French, German, business, computer science, art, and design and technology, plus geography and history from 5th grade.

Every live lesson can also be explored asynchronously afterwards. Members get curriculum reports, progress reports, a certificate of completion and a signed transcript — and access to the Asynchronous School at no extra cost.

Asynchronous School

For learners who need flexibility. Recorded lessons, presentations, worksheets and resources, accessed whenever it suits you. Students progress at their own pace, and can request feedback or support at any time through our whiteboard software. Reports, certificate and transcript are included.

1-to-1 tutoring

Individual attention from a certified teacher, tailored to a student's specific strengths and gaps. Useful for accelerating progress, test prep, or getting extra help in a difficult subject. Families can add a session or two alongside the Online School.

What does it cost?

Plans start at $119 a month for 2nd–3rd grade, $159 a month for the Asynchronous School, and $199 a month for the full Online School with daily live lessons. 1-to-1 tutoring and the 11th–12th grade program are priced per subject — see the plans page for guide prices. All prices are in US dollars.

There are no contractual obligations and you can cancel at any time.

Do I need to commit to a long-term contract?

No. Monthly plans renew each month and there is no minimum term. You can stop it at any time from your account, and restart it whenever you like from the plans page.

Who delivers the lessons?

Every one of our teachers holds a current US state teaching certificate, has a bachelor's degree in education or in the subject they teach, and has passed a criminal background check before meeting a student.
